Learning how to have a productive day among all the distractions that surround me is a task I had to learn. But, if I can do it so can you.
Visualize a successful day
As apart of your morning routine, take a few minutes to visualize what you want today to look like for yourself. A few tasks should pop into your head. This simple thing helps me get through my day and work towards my accomplishments that are in my head.
Create a to-do list
This can be on a simple sticky note, or in your notes app. But, write down what you have to do for the day. Seeing your tasks in front of you can remind you of those goals and keep you accountable, in turn increasing that productivity.
Communicate efficiently
One of my favorite ways to procrastinate and waste time? Not starting a task because I don't have all the information and then waiting until the last minute to ask. The effect this has on my stress levels only get worse and worse as deadlines start to approach. Just communicate. When you have questions, write them down, and when you have the person you need, speak to them. This helps the back and fourth that can go on in a workplace.
Take timed breaks
We already know that taking breaks is important to recharge, but sometimes breaks can just become entirely too long. Implementing timed breaks during my workday have saved my productivity. Depending on what my day looks like this may range from 5-30 minutes so that i can stretch my legs, fill my bottle, make a snack or whatever the case may be. This helps me make the most out of my breaks for my tasks so I'm refreshed and ready to get started again.
