Let's talk about the bikini area. They go through a lot, razor burn, razor bumps, skin sensitivity. All of it. Waxing, sugaring, laser hair removal? All great options, but expensive. Shaving get's a bad rep, but that's because people forget that shaving is a process, you can't just grab that razor and go to town.
♡ STEP 1: INVEST IN A GOOD RAZOR.
Your specials area deserves special care! Don't take that old, gross and dull razer to your bikini area. Invest in a good razor, no disposables!
♡ STEP 2: TRIM THAT BUSH.
Haven't shaved in a while? That's okay, but you got to trim it to get down to business. Take a bit of that length off before you do anything!
♡ STEP 3: EXFOLIATE THE AREA.
This is a key part to taking care of your bikini area. It removes all of that dead skin and debris giving you a nice and smooth shave. Also helps you prevent those pesky razor bumps, ingrowns and irritation!
♡ STEP 4: SOAK IN WARM WATER FIRST.
Warm water softens the skin and hair to prepare it for that close shave that we all want. Sit or stand in some water for about 5 minutes, the steam from your warm shower will do too!
♡ STEP 5: ALWAYS USE SHAVING CREAM/GEL.
Never EVER skip the shaving cream. Using a good quality one can make ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE. Some people prefer to shave with things like coconut oil, but be beware that it can clog your razer!
♡ STEP 6: PAY ATTENTION TO HAIR DIRECTION.
Shave slowly and shave gently! Rinse your razor often, ideally after every stroke. Some hairs can grow a bit crazy and not all in the same direction. If you're noticing you just can't get rid of some hairs, pay a bit more attention to what direction you're shaving in!
♡ STEP 7: MOISTURIZE AFTERWARDS
You CANNOT skip this step. This is one of the things you must do for irritation free skin. Hydrate the skin right after shaving and inbetween shaves. Find what works for your skin!
