Late-Victorian/early-Edwardian romance and refinement emanate from this truly exquisite and breathtaking fin de siècle lavalière, highlighting a resplendent multi-chromatic heart-shaped opal, glistening with predominantly fiery pink and turquoise flashes (our photos don't capture the vibrancy and intensity), framed by glittering rose-cut diamonds set in darkened silver over gold. The enchanting gemstone is crowned by a classic natural pearl-centered bow motif and surmounts an articulated double garland enlivened by electric lime-green demantoid garnets from the Ural Mountains of Russia. Total diamond weight, 1.00 carat. Possibly French, English or Russian, although no hallmarks are extant, this rare and ravishing jewel is hand fabricated in silver over 18K and 9K gold, and suspends from what appears to be its original 18-inch silver chain.
