Circa 1870. This fabulous Austro-Hungarian bracelet features an intricate silver and gilt two-hinged design. In the center of the setting sits a lovely bezel-set boulder opal cabochon. Accenting the central stone are bezel-set pearls and faceted blue glass. Austro-Hungarian pieces have a distinctive style based on the jewelry found in the paintings of Hans Holbein. The jewelry is intricate, colorful, and bold.
